Grasmere House Hotel is a fine Victorian house surrounded by mature gardens. Situated on the banks of the Rivers Avon and Nadder, Grasmere House only a few minute’s walk from the centre of Salisbury and offers superb Cathedral views. This beautiful building has been carefully converted and extended into a private hotel whilst retaining all the features and atmosphere of a comfortable Victorian home. A favourite venue for those wishing to spend time taking in the delights of Salisbury and surrounding Wiltshire countryside. All bedrooms in the Grasmere House Hotel have en-suite facilities and all the modern comforts you would expect. Four bedrooms are fitted with luxurious 4-poster beds, all are equally well furnished, some with extra pull-out beds to provide triple and quadruple family accommodation. Our accessible rooms are discreetly arranged for disabled guests including wheelchair access and graded by the ETB. A 3-bedroom family sized apartment with their own en-suite facilities and a separate lounge. The hotel also boasts the Conservatory Restaurant serving traditional English fare, with a modern eclectic twist. The Nadder Bar provides an ideal place for either a quaint Wiltshire Afternoon Tea or a naughty cocktail!
There is never a shortage of things to do in Salisbury or the wider area of Wiltshire, where some of the country’s most important heritage sites can be found – including, Old Sarum and the ancient stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury.
Salisbury has a racecourse with regular meetings and there is a wealth of excellent shops, museums and restaurants around the town. Salisbury Cathedral with its majestic spire can be seen from Grasmere House and is just a short walk away.
Wiltshire is also the home of some of the grandest stately homes and gardens – Wilton House, Longleat and Broadlands; or on a smaller scale, Avebury Manor and Mompesson House which is in the Cathedral Close.
